Property Matters!
Welcome to the latest edition of Property Matters! our regular review of property news and views.

Susan FreemanIt has been a busy year for Mishcon de Reya, with the department and Firm continuing to expand as evidenced
by the new talent that has joined us over the last year – see Mishcon People .

As well as continuing to provide our clients with partner-led commercial advice, we take our role as facilitators seriously: adding a new dimension by hosting debates and seminars on a variety of topical issues, in addition to our regular property law breakfast seminars led by partner Philip Freedman. A highlight this year was the forum we co-hosted with the London Borough of Camden for key developers and professionals which was positively received. We are working on some interesting ideas for the next few discussion groups. A constant theme of our development practice is the way in which the public and private sector work together and the success of BIDs, which we have championed from the outset, is an excellent illustration of this. The hard work has paid off with the Holborn Business Partnership achieving full BID status earlier this year. We have also been increasingly busy with property funds in the last year, be it setting up, advising on structures or dealing with their property acquisitions.

The property department’s annual party has now become a regular pre MIPIM fixture and we really enjoy being able to entertain our clients and contacts at Summit House. It provides a fitting prelude to our team’s annual pilgrimage to Cannes.
