Mishcon de Reya leads debate on Constitutional Reform

Mishcon de Reya, along with joint sponsors Open Democracy, Unlock Democracy and Lexis Nexis, today hosted a presentation and panel discussion on constitutional reform and citizen involvement. The discussion was chaired by
John Jackson, chairman of Mishcon de Reya. He was joined by speakers addressing the approaches to constitutional reform in Canada and Northern Ireland, as well as by representatives from the British Government. Speakers were:
Dr. Matthew Mendelsohn
Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Deputy Minister for Democratic Renewal in the Ontario Government speaking about the Ontario Citizens Assembly on Electoral Reform.
Professor Brice Dickson
Former Chair of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission speaking about the experience of involving citizens in creating a Bill of Rights.
Stephen Hesford MP
Michael Wills’ Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Ministry of Justice.
