Mishcon de Reya's continued expansion in the London legal market is gaining further momentum with the recruitment of two new IP partners from Pinsent Masons. Martyn Hann joined Mishcon on 28 August and Les Christy on 3 September.
Martyn joins from Pinsent Masons where he has been a partner since 2002. He brings with him impressive credentials in both contentious and non-contentious IP, having worked with clients across a wide range of industries including life sciences, manufacturing and retail.
Les, formerly an IP and defamation barrister at Pinsent Masons, joins Mishcon as a partner. He advises leading Australian, US and UK companies in sectors such as life sciences, engineering, technology, retail/consumer, marketing and advertising on all aspects of IP enforcement. Les is also a specialist in advising on corporate reputation disputes.
This team will be further complemented by assistant solicitor Mary Guinness, who also joins from Pinsent Masons and specialises in contentious and non-contentious life science work.
The three new recruits will enhance an IP team that currently advises an impressive list of global brands and is particularly renowned for helping brand owners fight counterfeiting using its award winning service, Tulip® (Turning Losses into Profits). In June 2006, Tulip® was named a stand out entry in the legal expertise category of the FT Legal Innovation report.
Commenting on their arrival, Mishcon de Reya’s Managing Partner, Kevin Gold, said:
“Mishcon de Reya has a unique culture within the London legal market that appeals to both clients and lawyers. The recruitment of these impressive IP specialists is further evidence of our ability to attract exceptional lawyers in a highly competitive market. We are delighted to welcome Martyn and Les and we are sure they will thrive within the Mishcon ethos - great work with interesting clients, combined with a healthy and rewarding work culture."
Martyn and Les bring the total partners to join Mishcon in the past twelve months to six, with an additional three partners confirmed to join in Autumn 2007. In the same period, the Firm has recruited 33 assistant solicitors and two senior consultants.
