Mishcon's Property Boost

Release Date: 01 June 2006

Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce today that Daniel Levy and Karen Milne will be joining the Firm's fast growing Property Department in July. The department was most recently strengthened in May, by the addition of property assistant Philip Jennings from Midlands firm Wright Hassall.

Property Litigation specialist Daniel Levy will be joining the Firm, having previously been at Lovells and more recently Eversheds, where he was a partner, to take up the position of Head of Property Litigation.

Recognised as a leader in the field of Property Litigation and praised by clients for being "proactive and switched-on with difficult issues." (Chambers & Partners: 2006), Daniel is especially highly regarded for his expertise in dealing with difficult negotiations and disputes, often within tight time scales.

Daniel's expertise encompasses all aspects of contentious property matters and ranges from dilapidations, development disputes, service charge, rent reviews and lease renewals to injunctions to restrain protestors and other commercial disputes. He acts for major clients in a wide range of industries including property, financial services, energy, retail and leisure.

Karen Milne will join the department as a senior assistant solicitor. She has over seven years post qualification experience and has particular expertise in development work including drafting and negotiating joint venture and collaboration agreements, building licences and strategic land options, as well as the real estate aspects of corporate transactions and landlord and tenant matters. Prior to joining Mishcon, Karen was at CMS Cameron McKenna where she spent over two years working in their Prague office.

Nick Doffman, Head of Property at Mishcon de Reya said: "To support the rapid growth of our Property Department, we searched for particular sector focus and expertise. We are therefore delighted that Daniel and Karen will be joining the department, as they will add another dimension of experience and expertise to our already high-level client offering and enable us to grow our practice further".

Commenting on his forthcoming move to Mishcon de Reya, Daniel said "The move to Mishcon de Reya was a fantastic opportunity for me to become Head of Property Litigation in a well-respected and first-rate practice".

Karen Milne added: "The Mishcon property team has an outstanding reputation in the market and I am keen to add my experience and drive to its well-established and dynamic group".
