Mishcon de Reya appoints new Head of Planning and Environmental Law

Release Date: 10 December 2004

Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Head of Planning and Environmental law, Oliver Goodwin, in the Firm's Property Department. Following closely upon the recent recruitment of Geoff Hayhurst, Daniel Lipman and John England from Berwin Leighton Paisner, property finance specialist Matthew Lindsay from Bird & Bird and construction lawyer Jason Kallis from Sherrards, Oliver's appointment will further bolster the expansion of the Firm's Property Department.

Oliver was previously with Eversheds in London where he was a senior member of the team advising on the planning application in support of London's Olympic bid. Earlier, Oliver had been at Berwin Leighton Paisner from 1987-2000, where he gained experience on an extensive range of public and private sector projects including international urban regeneration schemes, major office, retail, leisure and residential schemes, before becoming Head of Planning at Campbell Hooper where he gained a ranking in the Legal 500 for the past 3 years.

Oliver is ranked in the top 30 in Planning Magazine's survey of planning lawyers this year. Oliver is currently advising on a European major inward investment tourism project of national significance. He contributes to publications and lectures on a wide range of current planning and environmental issues.

Nick Doffman Head of Property states:

"We are very pleased that Oliver has joined the department, as not only does his appointment thoroughly reflect our strong property offering, but it also confirms our commitment to a totally client focussed service"

Oliver Goodwin adds:

"I am excited to be joining this dynamic Firm and look forward to continuing to grow the Firm's planning capability as part of the expansion of the Property Department"
