Lord Mishcon celebrates his 90th birthday

Lord Mishcon, one of the UK 's most respected lawyers and founder of law firm Mishcon de Reya, celebrates his 90th birthday on Sunday 14th August.

The first solicitor to be made honorary QC, Lord Mishcon was granted his practising certificate in 1937 at the tender age of 21. He founded Victor Mishcon & Co in 1937, only standing down as Senior Partner, of the renamed Mishcon de Reya, in 1992. Not ready to retire he became an active consultant and still attends the office regularly.

'In recognition of his distinguished career as a solicitor and his considerable contribution to many areas of public life particularly in local government in London and in parliament' Lord Mishcon was made Honorary Member of the Law Society for life in 1994, on recommendation of The Lord Chancellor.
