Bettelheim joins Mishcon

Eric Bettelheim (46) joins the law firm Mishcon de Reya on 7 September 1998. Bettelheim is a specialist in the US, UK and European regulation of financial institutions, a reputable arbitrator in commercial disputes, a recognised expert in derivative products and is qualified in both the US and the UK. He has spent almost his entire career in providing both advice and advocacy to enterprises engaged in international commerce and finance.
This appointment marks a new direction for both Bettelheim and Mishcons. For Bettelheim it is the opportunity to work for a firm providing a broad range of services in London. He also chooses a broader-based role than formerly, pursuing business development for the Firm as well as continuing to act for his clients in his specialist field of derivatives and financial services regulation.
Bettelheim will work as a consultant, a position already in existence at Mishcons with the example of Anthony Julius. This status will allow Bettelheim to combine his legal practice with his other commercial interests.
Bettelheim explains why he has chosen Mishcon de Reya: "I believe that the Firm will provide me with the environment and flexibility in working arrangements to do what I do best.
