'Threats and opportunities during this economic downturn for Recruitment Companies '

Date: 15 October 2008

Threats and opportunities during this economic downturn workshop

Two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth comprises the classic definition of recession. Exacerbated by the so called 'credit crunch' and creeping inflation, the economic downturn is now demonstrably starting to bite and most commentators agree is unlikely to be of less than 2 years duration. The impact on consumer spending, corporate and institutional investment and of course employment is predictable. However, as in any period of instability or change, there are both threats and opportunities.

Mike Stubbs who is a Solicitor and licensed Insolvency Practitioner will review some of the practical and legal issues arising and likely to develop during a recessionary economy including:

  • Increasing and decreasing business drivers
  • Wealth management (credit control and debts)
  • Legal and practical impact of insolvency process including 'pre-packs' and 'phoenix companies'
  • How to protect yourself and take advantage of opportunities in this shiny bright razor blade city of economic desolation.

Daniel Naftalin a Solicitor in the Employment Group will speak on restructuring your workforce.

The workshop will take place at our offices on Wednesday 15 October from 8.15am until 9.30am.
