Mediation is not just…... about settling disputes before trial. It’s another way of doing business and sometimes a better way of doing justice. The jargon of alternative dispute resolution or ‘ADR’ tends to obscure an underlying truth – that most of us would prefer to operate privately than publicly, as we already suffer from too much intrusiveness, without inviting more. The drawbacks of litigation for businesses and individuals alike are all too well known and consensus is normally less painful than a result imposed by a judge. However, even more important are the benefits of privacy, discretion and confidentiality that are offered by the mediation process. A neutral mediator helps the parties achieve an outcome owing more to their individual needs and interests than their strict entitlements and as the process is confidential people are often less inhibited in their negotiations and more flexible in their expectations. Mediation is now a global phenomenon and making it work for you in your business or personal life requires expert guidance. We have a team of trained mediators with considerable experience of conducting effective mediation. Further guidance can be obtained from: |
