Gary has been involved in investigating and fighting fraud and corruption for over 25 years. He spent 13 years in Hong Kong in private practice working for a number of leading multinational Banks and other corporations many of whom were based in Europe and the USA but whose business operations extended throughout South East Asia. Gary has both led and been part of multinational legal teams working together on behalf of both governments and companies where both fraudsters and the assets to be recovered were situated in multiple jurisdictions.
Gary specialises in the law relating to Covert Investigations and International Asset Recovery. He has extensive connections with and advises a number of Investigators on the legality of covert investigations and has considerable experience in working together with both in-house and external investigators in conducting discrete and sensitive enquiries. In the course of his work in this area Gary has established strong working relationships with a variety of Law Enforcement Authorities in the UK and elsewhere.
Gary also specialises in advising Banks and other financial institutions on the investigation, preparation and negotiation of their claims under Fidelity Policies and Bankers Blanket Bonds.
Over the last few years Gary has focused on applying the techniques and strategies developed in fighting financial fraud to the areas of Anti-Counterfeiting and Protection of Confidential Information on behalf of Brand Owners and other organisations whose businesses are information dependent.
Gary has been instrumental in developing The Fraud Network to bring together international legal experts in fraud and anti counterfeiting and the Financial Fraud Group where leading financial institutions meet to exchange ideas and information on new strategies to fight fraud.
