Rowena Herdman Smith specialises in commercial dispute resolution. She has wide-ranging expertise in litigation and trained as a mediator with the acclaimed Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution.
Rowena advises on contractual disputes, guarantee enforcement and warranty claims as well as disputes involving directors and shareholders. Working closely with our Corporate department, she frequently advises on how disputes can be resolved before they get to Court. Her clients span many different industries and range from small partnerships to publicly quoted companies.
She also advises on corporate governance, fiduciary duties and many other company law issues.

- Working with a major generic pharmaceutical company on a variety of disputes including contractual issues and international litigation.
- Advising on the interpretation of various sale and purchase agreements and, where applicable, taking proceedings to determine the meaning and effect of disputed provisions.

- Advising various partnerships on a number of issues including the removal of individual partners and the referral of various contentious issues to arbitration.
- Advising various directors/shareholders on their rights when faced with removal at board level. Also advising various boards about their ability to remove individual directors/shareholders.
