Expertise

Masoud leads the Banking & Finance Litigation Group. He has extensive knowledge of the banking and financial services sector, advising on a wide range of retail and investment banking disputes, as well as certain regulatory matters.

Masoud advises on all areas of retail banking including disputes with customers and merchants, consumer credit and data protection. He has developed for clients strategies to deal with bank charge, default charge and PPI claims, as well as the interventions of the OFT. Masoud has particular expertise in payment systems, including credit and other payment card operations. He also advises on standard terms and conditions, promotional material, Internet services, merchant acquisition agreements and agreements involving strategic alliances and co-branding.

On the investment banking side, Masoud advises on various forms of complex investment products / funds and represents clients on trade finance disputes involving letters of credit, guarantees and other documentary credits.

Masoud is also experienced in advising clients on a wide range of complex internal and external fraud matters, including fraud investigations, appropriate legal remedies (freezing injunctions, search orders, third party disclosure orders), as well as the commercial consequences of fraud.
